A river is to the Earth as arteries are to the human body. When you block an artery, you get a heart attack. Only 3 % of the world’s water is fresh water.
Africa is one of the most resource dense countries in the world! And yet because of unethical corporations, unfair trade & the world bank policies in Africa, a bottle of water is more expensive than a bottle of coke bankrupting their citizens as a result.
State’s side the Great Lakes of the Midwest are at risk of becoming privatized.
Will water become more expensive than Coke here when that happens? Oh wait a bottle of Dasani ALREADY COSTS AS MUCH as a bottle of Coke One or Zero!
Access to water is a human right and should be a public trust and be prohibited from privatization.
